How It Works.

Send a video or cd/dvd of your performing with your nunchaku.

There are three different events you can enter.

Event 1 – Nunchaku Form (Kata)

Send a tape, DVD, VCD or any other palyable media of your performance of your nunchaku kata.

E-mail submissions may be made with special arrangements
Please contact us before e-mailing any submissions

The form does not need to be original nor does it need to be a form from the North American Nunchaku Association – ANY FORM FROM ANY STYLE IS ACCEPTABLE.

Forms are judged on the following. (Not in order of importance – all aspects are treated equally)

1. Technique
2. Focus
3. Balance
4. Intensity
5. Realism
6. Difficulty

A traditional martial arts uniform is not required, but the attire must be appropriate without offensive language or questionable products displayed.

Shoes may or may not be worn.

Forms may not exceed 2 minutes.

Single or double nunchaku may be used

Event 2 – Single Combinations

The clip cannot be more than 20 seconds and may contain as many or as few spins – blocks – tricks, etc. as can be performed in that time frame with a single pair of nunchaku.

This event is being judged on the following:

1. Control of the weapon
2. Speed
3. Difficulty
4. Originality

Event 3 – Double Combinations

The clip cannot be more than 20 seconds and may contain as many or as few spins – blocks – tricks, etc. as can be performed in that time frame with two pair of nunchaku.

This event is being judged on the following:

1. Control of the weapon
2. Speed
3. Difficulty
4. Originality

KATA WILL BE BROKEN DOWN INTO THE FOLLOWING DIVISIONS

BEST COMBINATION will be broken down into the following divisions

SINGLE NUNCHAKU

AGE and SKILL LEVEL
10 and Under Novice (Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)
11-15 Novice (Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)
16 and older Novice(Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)

10 and under Advanced (2 years plus)
11-15 Advanced (2 years plus)
16 and older Advanced (2 years plus)

DOUBLE NUNCHAKU
AGE and SKILL LEVEL
10 and Under Novice (Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)
11-15 Novice (Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)
16 and older Novice(Less than 2 years training with the nunchaku)

10 and under Advanced (2 years plus)
11-15 Advanced (2 years plus)
16 and older Advanced (2 years plus)

�We are not responsible for unplayable (for any reason) media.

�Those who send in incomplete entry forms will be disqualified.

�The NORTH AMERICAN NUNCHAKU ASSOCIATION cannot be held responsible for injuries resulting from this event.

�The NORTH AMERICAN NUNCHAKU ASSOCIATION reserves the right to disqualify any competitor without notice for any reason.

�Entry in the tournament is FREE. There will be an entry fee charged for the next event.

Members of NANA will receive a discounted entry.

�Quality of the media may be a factor – if the judges can’t clearly see what it is you’re doing or if the image is too small – it may affect your scoring.

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OR PARTICIPATION.

AWARD CERTIFICATES WILL BE GIVEN FOR 1^st – 4^th PLACE IN EACH DIVISION
